Tense Table
Piergiorgio Cazzaniga's Tense Table achieves something quietly radical: a surface that spans remarkable distances without gaining a single unnecessary millimeter of depth. At just 35mm thick, the top reads almost as a drawn line in space.
That slenderness is made possible through a composite construction, an inner aluminum frame filled with polystyrene, sandwiched between two aluminum sheets, and finished with a 3mm panel of acrylic resin on the surface and edges. The resin itself is composed of white rock and minerals, producing a solid, non-porous surface with a presence that shifts between stone and light depending on the room.
Available in a range of rectangular and square dimensions, Tense adapts equally to the domestic dining room and the professional workspace. Office configurations include integrated cable management, keeping the table's clean geometry intact regardless of use.
