Sorry Giotto 3 Floor Lamp

Sorry Giotto 3 Floor Lamp

Enzo Catellani's Sorry Giotto 3 begins with the circle, one of geometry's oldest and most considered forms. Three copper rings, hand-painted in a distinctive blue, are suspended at graduated diameters of 60, 50, and 40 centimeters, creating a composition that reads as drawing in space before the lamp is even switched on.

When illuminated, the rings dissolve into arcs of warm light. The structure recedes, and what remains is atmosphere. Catellani & Smith has long treated the craft of light-making as a sculptural pursuit, and Sorry Giotto is among the clearest expressions of that sensibility. It earned the Wallpaper* Design Award in 2012 for Best Floor Light, a recognition of its rare ability to be both minimal and emotionally resonant.

  • Three hand-painted copper rings: 60, 50, and 40 cm in diameter
  • Black painted stem and base, 35 x 20 cm footprint
  • Blue hand-painted wires and integrated black floor dimmer
  • Overall height: 220 cm
  • Handcrafted in Italy

The floor dimmer allows precise calibration of the mood. At full brightness, the rings assert themselves as form. Dimmed, they become something closer to a whisper, present without demanding attention.
