Marina and Susanna Sent have worked from their Murano studio for decades, approaching glass as a medium for wearable sculpture rather than ornament. Their work draws on the island's centuries of craft tradition while refusing its conventions.
The Polly Necklace builds on the studio's signature Polly Glass technique: individual glass rings strung in sequence to form solid, cylindrical strands. A large translucent ball of glass rests atop three of these strands, introducing a shift in scale that gives the piece its quiet drama. Slim slices of glass accumulate into broader blocks of color, so proportion becomes its own expressive language.
