Pigreco Table Lamp
The Pigreco is a study in reduction. Davide Groppi, the Piacenza-based designer whose practice is built on the conviction that light itself is the true material, conceived this lamp as a dialogue between two elemental substances: crystal and concrete. Nothing is decorative. Everything is purposeful.
At the heart of the piece sits a hand-finished crystal sphere, one hemisphere rendered in frosted glass. The sphere rotates freely on its base, shifting between diffused ambient light and focused projection. An LED source, concealed entirely within the base, remains invisible, preserving the impression that the sphere itself is alive with illumination.
- Hand-finished crystal sphere with frosted and clear hemispheres
- Concrete base with fully concealed LED source
- Freely rotatable sphere for adjustable light behavior
- Designed by Davide Groppi in Piacenza, Italy
Groppi's wider body of work returns again and again to the same question: what remains when everything unnecessary is removed? The Pigreco is one of his clearest answers. Its two materials carry no ornament and no apology. The concrete grounds the object with quiet weight; the crystal catches, bends, and releases light according to the hand that positions it.
