Gelato Lamp
Carlo Nason is a name inseparable from the history of Murano glass. Born into the Nason glassmaking dynasty on the island of Murano, he spent decades at Mazzega refining a practice where heat, breath, and gravity determine form. The Gelato Lamp carries that lineage forward, translated into a contemporary object for Established & Sons.
The lamp is hand-blown from Murano glass, its softly rounded silhouette layered and voluminous in a way that only free-blown technique allows. No mold produces these proportions. Each piece holds the particular gesture of its making, a faint record of the glassblower's breath and the furnace's pull.
The form reads differently depending on the light. Unlit, it is a compact sculptural object with a quiet, milky depth. When illuminated, the glass diffuses warmth evenly through its body, the glow pooling at the curves and fading toward the edges. It functions equally well as a bedside presence or a considered accent on a writing desk or shelf.
- Hand-blown Murano glass
- Designed by Carlo Nason for Established & Sons
- Warm ambient diffusion through layered glass body
- Each piece carries natural variation from the hand-blown process
