Gauge Crystal Glass Vase
Jim Rokos conceived the Gauge Vase as a study in cause and effect. Mouth-blown from crystal glass and free-formed entirely by hand in England without molds, each piece carries the subtle variation that only direct human craft produces.
The design takes its logic from natural behavior. Water held within the vessel keeps it upright. As flowers drink, the weight shifts, and the vase begins to lean, communicating its own need without any added mechanism. The form becomes a gauge, the tilt a signal.
- Mouth-blown crystal glass, free-formed by hand in England
- No molds used, each piece is individually unique
- Narrow neck calibrates balance and limits flower volume intentionally
- Available as a table vase and as a large floor vase
- Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
Rokos trained at the Royal College of Art and runs his London studio with a consistent focus on objects that perform, objects whose form is inseparable from function. The Gauge Vase is among his most considered pieces: a vessel that observes its own contents and responds.
