Flusso Ash Black Vase

Iwata Mokkou Studio works from Hiroshima, Japan, where wood has been shaped by hand for generations. The Flusso vase series emerges from that tradition, each piece finished individually by skilled craftsmen whose primary task is coaxing the grain of the ash to the surface.

The process involves a sequence of polishing and finishing techniques, applied with careful attention to how light moves across the wood. Color is not simply applied but balanced against the grain, making each vase a distinct object. The Ash Black finish draws out the depth of the material, quiet and composed.
