Eames House Bird

For decades, a small wooden bird held a quiet place of honor in the living room of the Eames House in Pacific Palisades. Charles and Ray Eames brought it back from their travels, drawn to its simplicity and the warmth of American folk craft. It appeared in photographs, in films, and in the collage-like atmosphere the couple built around themselves.
