Dew Pouf
Nendo's Dew Pouf for Moroso begins with a single observation: the tension lines that form across the surface of a water droplet. From that moment of close looking, Oki Sato and his studio developed a geometry of interwoven leather strips that shifts character depending on where you stand in relation to it.
The visual language draws on optical art of the 1950s, a movement fascinated by perception's instability. The strict black and white tonal ratios create a surface that reads simultaneously as flat pattern and three-dimensional relief. Structure and ornament become the same gesture.
