Calla Small Armchair
Designed by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance in 2010, the Calla armchair for Zanotta draws its character from the tension between softness and structure. The rounded shell holds the body with a calm, enveloping presence, while the underlying geometry keeps the silhouette precise and considered.
Construction centers on a steel frame with elastic strip suspension, cushioned in self-extinguishing polyurethane foam and finished with heat-bound polyester fiber. The result is a seat that reads as sculptural from across a room and disappears into comfort the moment you occupy it.
Calla adapts across contexts with quiet confidence. It is offered in two seat heights, with castors or fixed feet, and with removable covers in fabric or leather. An optional external cowhide body introduces a layer of material contrast that deepens the overall composition without complicating it.
