Bilboquet Lamp
Philippe Malouin designed the Bilboquet around a single, precise idea: a lamp that moves the way intuition does. Two cylindrical polycarbonate forms meet at a magnetic steel sphere, allowing the head to pivot and settle at will, without tools or tension.
The polycarbonate carries its own story. Derived from a by-product of paper production, it is pigmented through its full depth, holding color the way stone does, with no surface coating to chip or fade over time. The material is built to ISCC standards, contains no glued components, and is fully recyclable at the end of its life.
- Full-depth pigmented polycarbonate body, color consistent through the entire material
- Magnetic steel sphere joint with PVD protective treatment
- Direct-lighting LED source with freely adjustable head
- 2-meter cable with locking slit integrated into the base
Malouin's practice is defined by a rigorous attention to how objects are made and what they are made of. The Bilboquet is, in that sense, characteristic: a formal gesture that also functions as a quiet argument for responsible material thinking.
