Arrow Hanger
Gustav Hallén drew his inspiration from the sea. Watching a ship's ladder fold neatly into a mast while sailing, he recognized a gesture that was both functional and formally compelling. The Arrow Hanger is what emerged from that moment of clarity.
Folded against the wall, Arrow reads as a pure graphic form, a three-pointed silhouette that functions as an object in its own right. Each of those points serves as a hook. Open it, and a hidden horizontal ledge appears, wide enough to hold folded garments, bags, or towels. Two states, one object.
Winner of the Red Dot Award in 2009, the Arrow Hanger sits comfortably in an entrance hall, a bathroom, a wardrobe, or a child's room. Its precision comes not from complexity but from reduction: a single folding mechanism that solves a real problem with an economy of means that feels almost inevitable in retrospect.
