38Vt Table Lamp

38Vt Table Lamp

Omer Arbel's 38 Series began as a rigorous investigation into the behavior of molten glass under controlled pressure. The 38Vt distills that inquiry to a single large sphere, defined by its characteristic imploded milk-glass openings, voids formed mid-blow that scatter light inward and produce a soft, atmospheric depth that shifts with the viewer's position.

The hardware is composed with the same precision as the glass. A sleek cylinder houses an integral dimming system, while the semi-rigid black fabric cord holds whatever form it is given, allowing the lamp's posture to function as a secondary gesture of arrangement.

  • Blown borosilicate glass with imploded milk-glass voids
  • Integral dimmer housed in the cylindrical base
  • Semi-rigid black fabric cord, poseable by hand
  • Notched underside enables wall-mounting as a sconce

A small notch on the underside of the stand extends the piece's range: fixed to a wall, the 38Vt reads as a sconce, without additional hardware. One object, two distinct lives.
