TURN+ LED Lantern
Nao Tamura conceived the TURN+ as an object to be held, not merely seen. Its body is carved, honed, and polished from solid crystal glass, a process that demands the same patience found in traditional Japanese craft. What emerges is a form of rare optical clarity, warm in the hand and quietly commanding on any surface.
A cage of brass, stainless steel, or black aluminum encloses the glass, providing both protection and proportion. The choice of metal shifts the lantern's character entirely, from warm and ceremonial to cool and precise.
Cordless and waterproof, the TURN+ moves freely between interior and exterior settings without compromise. Illumination is controlled through a gentle touch, cycling through four distinct phases of light. Ambientec developed a dedicated LED module specifically for this design, calibrated to render the crystal with depth and warmth rather than simply illuminating it.
